Maestro modular budget office furniture

The Maestro series of business furniture manufactured by Dams International is possibly the most successful ranges of business furniture ever manufactured. The success of Maestro office furniture is based upon a winning combination of Maestro offering great value, Maestro furniture is extremely dureable and functional, and Maestro offers a large range of modular furniture products. Maestro is an excellent choice for either cost conscious firms or the home office furniture user.

Maestro desks are available in just three basic shapes (L shaped, wave and rectangular desks) each in a choice of sizes and a straight choice of leg designs from wooden panel end and the more popular metal cantilever design. In previous years Maestro products have been sold in many different melamine faced woodgrain effect finishes. The 2008 range has been rationalised down to either beech or oak woodgrain finish, though cherry and light grey Maestro products have only recently been discontinued and for limited items residual stocks may still be available. Many years ago the Maestro furniture range could be purchased in white though it could never be ordered as a highly fashionable black furniture range.

If there is any drawback to using Maestro office furniture, it is the fact that it is manufactured from 18mm MFC woodgrain effect chipboard which could be deemed to be slightly too cheap when impression counts with external visitors, though it’s hard wearing strength and durability should not be doubted despite its budget appearance. The business office furniture market has swung firmly towards 25mm furniture ranges over the last few years which usually looks much more expensive. A good compromise as an upgrade from Maestro is the Maestro 25 furniture range (AKA M25 furniture).

Maestro 25 desks are only around 10% to 15% more costly than Maestro desks, but aesthetically they look a far superior quality and give a more positive impression. The two furniture ranges can be fitted in the same office and will not look out of place. The main point to note is that M25 desking products are only available in standard metric depths and widths (800mm deep and metric widths like 1200mm, 1400mm, 1600mm etc.) whereas Maestro desks comes in various non standard depths and widths (746mm deep and widths such as 1228mm, 1532mm, 1778mm etc.) The range mismatch is only a problem if you intend to fit a Maestro 25 desk onto a cluster of 18mm Maestro desks.
