I have been to several of the world-class theme parks in Southern California lately. If you would like to see some of the beloved animated movie and TV characters “live” these parks are the place for you.
Of course Disneyland is the first park that comes to mind, with Dumbo, Mickey, Goofy and the others. If you’d like some good information about planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort, check out the SoCal Vacation Guru. Who doesn’t love the wonderful job Disney has done in creating a fictional universe of lovable characters?
A few miles down the road at Knott’s Berry Farm you’ll find all the Peanuts gang at Camp Snoopy. The Peanuts guys have been at Knott’s Berry Farm for quite awhile now and seem to feel at home there.
Hit Universal Studios Hollywood and you can find Spiderman, Betty Boop, the Flintstones, Woody Woodpecker and a squadron of other beloved Universal characters that have been at the heart of many television shows and famous movies. Your visit to Universal Studios Hollywood will go a little smoother if you pick up some tips and advice first.
The final stop in the character caravan would be up I-5 an hour or so, to Six Flags Magic Mountain. According to the SoCal Vacation Guru, Six Flags is best known for its roller coasters and other thrill rides. It does not take long to figure out that the Looney Tunes people are in charge of public relations.
You will find Yosemite Sam, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and the Roadrunner, some of whom hang out with the guests. There’s a nice area just for small children; the park management has figured out that not everyone is a teen-age or twenty- something thrill ride fanatic. It is fun for kids and adults alike to meet these well-behaved celebrities, and you can find them at various spots on the Mountain.
